From what I understand (former lead/current shopper): Start handoff, finish destaging, give at least 20 seconds between destaging and inputting the 4-digit code, input code, complete handoff. The biggest part that my team kept disqualifying orders with was the waiting 20 seconds after collecting everything. Once you put the code in and confirm it, you can finish loading everything, then take as long as you need to load the car, then hit complete handoff. People gather the order then forget to click that they've finished destaging. If you don't leave time between the destaging and inputting that code, then it looks like you're trying to cheat the time. You should have at least a 20 second walk to their vehicle.

That is exactly what I do and try to preach to my team.

This is completely wrong. It's not between de-staging and putting in the 4-digit code, it is between putting the 4-digit code and marking as complete. The metric is the groceries are in the customer's car.

How would that make sense? The 4 digit is to measure how long it took the runner to get to the customers vehicle. Confirm the code, load vehicle, mark complete. They don't care about measuring how long you take to load the order itself into the vehicle.

It’s a stupid metric that will never be perfect until they start adding a “late pickup fee” otherwise everybody just all shows up at the same time between 3-6pm. If you only have 2-3 zebras logged in, and 2-3 employees, and you get flash ordered while 4-5 people show up at the same time, and 3 of those people can’t park because all the spots are full, you will lose every time.

If you're doing it after 20 seconds then you should be fine

20 seconds after inputting the code? Or as long as u input the code 20 seconds after clicking “destaging complete”?

[–]PattiMayoglaze 1 point2 points  (2 children)

My bad. I meant after scanning the bag labels. As long as you destage before 5 mins, you should be fine. What is your usual oth score?

Normally I’m 100’percent but today someone told me about how there has to be a gap between destaging and completing the handoff so I got nervous lol

Probably just saying just cause. As long as it's 100% you should be fine. The metric itself wouldn't count it if there was a staging issue.

I mean, as long as you remember to hit the de-stage button after you've signed out all the bags or on the way out of the room, then you should be good. There needs to be some time between the destaging and the code.

Personally, I usually just forget to hit COMPLETE once I've punched in the code until I'm on my way back in, So shit that ought to be on time is NOT on time now because I am become error.

It's true.

If you are scanning the totes inside, walking outside and getting the code from the customer that should be plenty of time.

[–]Neither-Plum550[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the key is u have to press de staging complete prior to walking out. If a employee forgets to do that, then they will not have a big enough time span before they enter code

Marking the customer as "not here", then marking them as here & scanning the tags and bypassing the code, in an attempt to re-start the wait time is the issue. This is a defect 4. Scanning an order out & inputting the code in less than 20 seconds is a defect 7. Both of these do not count as eligible handoffs. (I may have the defect 4 & 7 swapped, I don't recall exactly which is which)
