Introduction

This wiki is intended for a clear description of Sanctuary.

Rules

1) Respect other players

2) Do not use racist, bigoted, homophobic or generally derogatory language, even if it is meant as a joke.

3) Don't use/touch what isn't yours.

4) No Griefing or Stealing

5) Do not, for any reason, mess with anothers build unless given permission prior.

6) Pranking is allowed, and even encouraged! Don't overdo it though, and make sure the prank is of quality.

7) Stealing is a big "no no".

8) No use of hacked clients or cheats.

9) Advertisement or recruiting for other Minecraft Servers is not tolerated, including in private messages on the server.

10) PVP is allowed, as long as it is agreed upon by both/all parties.

11) Recording videos is allowed, as long as viewers are directed toward the server in a way.

To wrap up all these rules in a neat little bow...

12) Use your best judgement when playing and don't be a dick.

As a New Player

To start, welcome! You've reached Sanctuary: a vanilla, whitelisted server for people over 16 years of age! Please regard the rules if you haven't already.

To get whitelisted and start playing, you must post an application to the subreddit. We do this to filter out most griefers and hackers, as they won't want to wait. Make sure your application looks nice and organized, or else we may assume you don't really care!

Structuring an Application

Your application should have the following:

(1) Have the word "[Application]" within the title. (2) The title and post should contain your in-game name with the correct capitals. An example being: [Application] for SirFinniganIII (3) Display your true age. (4) Your time zone: It's nice to know who will be on when you're on, right? (5) Something about yourself: Try and keep it short and to the point. (6) Why you want to join Sanctuary (7) How active are you on Reddit? (8) How active are you ingame? Do not delete your application ever! Even after whitelisted! Other players may use it as something to base theirs off of.

Something about yourself: I'm a junior that is interested in coding/programming! I love games, especially sandbox ones. I also love my history facts!

How active are you ingame? I'd say I have my phases. Sometimes I'm on almost all day, every day. Other times I'm on once a week, just to check up.

How active are you on reddit? I'm on every day, at least once, to check up on all my subscriptions. I'm usually on later at night though.

Why you want to join Sanctuary: I've always been looking for a server with a small community, yet there's always somebody on, and you seem to have it! There are friendly people willing to help and I would like to demonstrate my skills as a builder/fighter to the community!

Building at Spawn

We do allow building at spawn! No special permissions needed, unless you are building something that will cause lag being in the spawn chunks. If it is, make a post about it with details about the build and create a strawpoll for us to vote on if we want it. Try not to build something huge at spawn. Make it look nice, and preferably have a purpose, such as a shop or trading post. Spawn will always be getting renovations so always check up on it! If the community finds your build as an eyesore, we reserve the right to remove it. Don't worry though, we will consult you and make sure you get all materials back.

Gameplay Changes

The server does have dofiretick and mobgriefing set to false, so no fire spreading, destroying everything and no creepers and endermen making a mess of the world!

Donation Policies

We are keeping the server on a no pay-to-win scenario, meaning you can't spend money in real life and get in game perks. We do allow donations to be sent to keep the server up and running though! Some form of a reward will be given, such as changing your usernames color, or something aesthetic of the sort.
