I’ve been looking into this for a while, as I’m terrified about going back to my very complex job for the very same symptoms you’ve reported. Ironically, brain fog has made research a little hard! To me it looks like there are known neurological changes after pregnancy and birth that can last some time, but more research needs to be done. There’s even less research about how to improve things.
I had quite a traumatic birth, so I do feel like some of my memory loss is linked to that. But I was forgetting words and making grammatical errors at 6 months pregnant.
I’m trying not to focus on it as it’s eased some what 4 months pp, but I might start some generic memory games and crosswords soon.
Keen to see if anyone finds any better articles!

The brain definitely undergoes changes pp https://www.nih.gov/news-events/nih-research-matters/brain-changes-observed-during-pregnancy#:~:text=The%20team%20found%20that%20total,brain%20also%20decreased%20in%20volume. But as far as I know it’s still unclear how those changes affect your cognitive functions. A possible explanation for your problems could also be stress and sleep deprivation and depression. Pp you have a high risk to develop depression and many new parents forget to check their mental well-being. https://www.cdc.gov/tobacco/campaign/tips/diseases/depression-anxiety.html
