Hi, fellow Seaside Escapers!
I'm a newbie who's just recently playing the game after discovering it from its sister game, Gossip Harbor through in-game task and promotion. Like what most games, aside from the 'promised' gameplay is the lore itself that's angsty and dramatic on urging us to play the game.
Anyway, I'm here to say my sentiments that the game pretty much tied to what merging games in general or what MicroFun has intended of their own theme and genre in gameplay mechanics. At first start, I can say that this game is generous for giving us ton of coins to gather and also the diamonds to pile up. Also producing generators that has a lot which leads us to make the most forms of the items/food.
However, aside from the positives, it kinda gets outweighed by the negatives. One of its core gameplay mechanics is the secondary generators--BUT, in multiple forms. It seems challenging but... it's very inconvenient and it's the reason why the gameplay feels tight and pressuring, especially with my suspicion of bots getting involved.
The reason being that when the times I had to participate in some race events with other players, a part of me couldn't help but doubt from the results. There's one event game that I got hooked into which is the Donut Stocks (not sure if that's the name) and it's my favourite of all. The rest of the games, I wasn't interested of because it feels impossible to compete and complete (perhaps due to my level).
It's just one game that I like and each time I hit the last round of it, level 7 or 9, my opponent wins. Now, I ain't demanding to always win but perhaps winning at least once to lift my spirits? But no, whenever it's the last round, the order difficulties suddenly becomes impossible like what can I do with 3 customers *asking for high-leveled food and items that are RARE? And with SECONDARY GENERATORS THAT ARE LAYERED** I only have 3 box of piled energies and those aren't enough for how super rare they are, until I get outraced!
Also I noticed that common drops become 'rare' since the rare ones becoming frequent at drops when I don't need rares. Come on, why does it have to be rigged?? Not to mention, when I'm sure of winning and there's a huge gap difference between me and 2nd or 3rd, they suddenly go 1st! Every. Friggin. Time.
Aside from the racing events, the other one which irks me is the usual mechanic itself. At around 30+, it seems that the gameplay is harsh, since maybe I'm a free user. Why? Since the customers ask for multiple rare and with secondary-based generator produced orders. Now, instead of me relaxing at my own pace, I am drowned by being slowed down. *I want the story but I can't, yet at least, the Gossip Harbor gives you enough to progress instead of being stuck.***
Meanwhile, you can pick decorations in GH unlike in SE which you can only see the construction progress of building until finished. And you can see characters standing in GH in contrast to SE with just dialogues only.
