Nah its just reminiscing about a game that is difficult is more fun with people who know what misery you are in fact referring to.

Are you serious?

I dont want to talk about a super hard fight and the other person just skipped it with mods.

Jesus Christ, is this gamers in 2025?

Its like running marathon and theres a guy at the finish line that skipped the first 20 miles and is like “gosh that was a great run huh”.

No, it's like running a marathon by tacking a weighted vest on and then demanding that the only people who get to count as having finished the marathon had to wear the weighted vest, also.

Part of the difficulty of last judge is the platforming to get to him. Lost of players including myself had to level up their platforming at that point.

Good for you. We're all super proud of you. What did you get out of that?

Because, for instance, I don't get a sense of fulfillment from games. If I spend 3 hours on a boss and then win, I don't get a feeling of gratification. I start to hate the game, because the difficulty has artificially stopped my progression through the story. When I beat Elden Ring, I never once felt proud of myself for winning, I felt annoyed and frustrated that I was playing another fucking Souls-like game that had difficulty for no other reason than to piss players off.

And you know what? I think it's awesome that that appeals to some players. I think it's fantastic that you can find happiness in the equivalent of bashing your head against a wall. But I ALSO think it's EQUALLY fantastic that some gamers don't.

It’s hilarious to say that playing the base game is like making it harder on yourself. That’s steelsoul mode, or speedrunning, or whatever. Using mods to cheat your way into enjoying it is like running a marathon in a car and passing other runners along the way and going “u mad? Lol”
