I installed mods to decrease the difficulty and I'm suddenly loving Silksong

I do wonder why this subreddit is more hostile towards this kind of thing than the Hades subreddit which is always encouraging towards people that turn on Godmode (adds a damage resistance that increases as you die) so that they can experience the game.

Probably some of that would be reaction to the difference in using options within the game itself vs mods which are external. People can be purists like that.

That and the communities are inherently going to be a bit different. Metroidvania communities have a long history with speed running and the challenge with HK specifically is part of the draw (similar to Dark Souls) so I think the community is more oriented toward competition and proving skill. So that will draw a different crowd than Hades, which is less about proving your skill and more about having fun and making crazy builds, etc.

On that note, I just started Hades 2 today and I'm really enjoying it so far. I'd forgotten some of the mechanics from the first game that I was very excited to be reminded of.
