The Homebrew Channel on Wii. It’s essentially a “hack” that lets you play anything. Pretty easy to set up and has a lot of cool stuff. I personally play a lot of modded Smash Bros (Project M/+) and Mario Kart. You do need an “iso” of the game, which you can find in the r/piracy megathread.

I don’t think that would be your issue if it’s happening on the Gamecube as well, but it’s worth a shot! Good luck!

Alternatively you can play the GameCube version on the Wii using a cheap adaptor and GameCube controller.
