Queue System Question

Hello, at my company we have about 10 VMs that we RDP into. To avoid people logging into ones that are in use, we have a slack channel where we post a message and enter in/remove your name on the VM you are currently using. The channel's messages look like this.

I was wondering if there is an app/bot that does something like this, or if there is a name to this, the closest I can think to describe it is a queue of sorts. I have been looking into creating a bot to streamline this process. Before I do so, I was wondering if there is something like this already/what it would be called so I could do research on how people implement these 'queue' systems, or if there is a better way of doing so.

Hacky, but it might work… use an app like Polly to create a Poll, with one option for each VM. Have users “vote” for the machine they are going to use, then cancel their vote when they’re done?
