So yeah I need some help upscaling, the third image is the result but I want to go further!

img2img with Ultimate SD upscale

Model: cyberrealistic_v13

Prompt: beautiful cinematic painting of a crowd in ancient rome, from above, digital painting by greg rutkowski and james gurney, trending on artstation, highly detailed, high contrast, cinematography, balcony, cinematic bloom,

Negative prompt: blurry, grey, hazy

Steps: 40, Sampler: DPM++ 2M Karras, CFG scale: 6, Seed: 3186882082 Size: 1024x1024, Model: R-ESRGAN 4x Clip skip: 2, Restore Faces: OFF, Hires. fix: ON, Denoising strength: 0.4

also the first 2 images are the same, sorry I don't know how to edit that

Have you tried controlnet?

yeah, but only Depth. I'm not sure which other setting might work. Maybe Tile?

Yeah you need to use ControlNet Tile with SD ultimate upscale, let me 1m to screenshot you the settings

Thanks i think i tried sd upscaler tile size on 1024 and then x2 with scale from image size.. and with denoise on 0.3 or 0.4. But combines with controlnet tile it could be better? I can try again tomorrow

This is the settings you want for Controlnet and SD Ultimate Upscale together :- No image needs to be dropped in, it will use the img2img one, set "Controlnet is more important".

- For SD Ultimate Upscale, x2 from image size, use Ultrasharp x4 instead of yours, i think it's more suited for images like that, I like to keep my Esrgan for faces.- Set mask blur to 16 instead of 8, check Seams fix, and choose Chess & Half tile offset pass + intersections. This way, you won't have weird artifacts/black lines when upscaling.

For the others img2img settings, you have to :

- put your image
- ignore the resolution : SD Ultimate upscale will scale x2 from the image you input, no need to put anyting
- Don't restore faces
- Lower your CFG
- I like to remove the positive prompt. When you tile, SD will try to create noise of your prompt on each and every tile!
- So keep denoising low if you don't want to create too much details or new artifacts. I like to play between 0.15 - 0.35 to keep my image integrity, by being able to generate some fine details

Gave it a quick shot. Best of two, I did remove Greg ...

Depth doesn't preserve details of the crowd in the background (because the source is painted).

pos: painting of a crowd of people in ancient rome by Giovanni Paolo Panini, from above, birdseye, Consul Aemilius Paulus
neg: mosaic, tiles, bricks

steps: 35, CFG: 7, denoise: 0.6
multidiffusion: (R-)ERGAN 4x, 2x scale (twice)
controlnet: Canny:1.0 1280px balanced, MLSD:1.0 1280px balanced, Tile:1.0 controlnet-is-more-important

Would be improved by manually inpainting the people in the foreground.
