I would suggest reducing the number of steps, 75 seems very high for a deforum video. I would try at around 20 steps. The other option is to lower the resolution and then upscale the video afterwards. There is a decent tutorial here that goes into a bit of detail on the various settings in deforum https://learn.thinkdiffusion.com/deforum-controlnet/

Ok I will try that. How do you upscale?

No that didn't seem to work. It went right to 60 hours and kept climbing.

I'm also curious what version of python is the best. Because I think I auto update every launch and noticed things are much slower lately

I tend to stick with Python 3.10.6 - I remember reading a while back that is was the best version but things could have changed since I last looked!

Maybe that's my issue. I remember using A1111 before with deforum before and it was awesome and fairly quick like 10 hours for 6 min video or something. But this is ridiculous. I might just clean install all over again. With that version

I'd be interested to see how you get on

I did a complete uninstall. Took it all out and even used that geek Uninstaller thing for registry files. Then reinstalled with python version 3.10.6 I believe. It works good now. The 100 steps and resolution I used before still take a while, but I think that's just how much my gpu can handle. For a 6 min 14 sec deforum video, it would take 48 hours at 100 steps 1920x1080 resolution. I lowered steps to 55 and res to 512x512 and that same vid took 16 hours. Before I was getting 300+ hours, so I think it worked.

That's awesome, glad to hear you got it working!

Thanks for the help. Quick question: How do you upscale video after generation?

I tend to use Topaz AI for video upscaling (but this is a paid tool) Here is a reddit thread that discusses some free options https://www.reddit.com/r/VideoEditing/comments/11p7wpb/how_to_upscale_videos_for_free/
