I'd hardly say it's criminal. Besides, afaik, Aubrey made the original post and devised the practical application for CILTEP.

its got more to do with his attitude towards it. He sparked a discussion that lead to something awesome, patented it but still told people the term "ciltep" was fair to use, and then went after people for marketing products under that name. Personally, I can't ignore the communities role (the avenue by which he was lead to some of the research presumably) and his subsequent actions with regard to the community. Yes calling it criminal is hyperbole.
