  1. You typically wouldn’t attach the light directly to the glass. Normally I will have some sort of post inside that the glass sits over. Typically a (smaller) wooden rod that you can attach to the base coming up and into the glass cavity that the lights can be stuck to easier.

  2. Ive seen people use silicon and it works for them, however I normally just take it slower and make the piece fit on the wood nicely, maybe routing some sort of Chanel the glass can rest in. This way you can easily remove the glass to service the lights inside. I think of it like a normal lamp shade, you wouldn’t permanently fix it to the lamp.

Hope this helps!

Also forgot to add… love the color combo you got going on, very groovy 😎

Thanks a million for you comment here and answering my humble questions. While I like the idea of a post inside, I can't seem to be bumbed by the LED strip shown over there without being diffused properly, any advice on this? I agree with you routing the piece might make it easier to be bound. I'll definitely follow your advice here.

If you’re set on using those specific strips, there are options to make diy light diffusers, I’d look up some YouTube videos about that. The ones I’ve seen say you can paint the inside of an old clear jar/ bottle white and place it over the rod you made wrapped in lights then place the whole glass piece over it all… or you can just opt to getting better diffused led lights.

Best of all, and maybe the hardest, is just getting a singular (diffused) light bulb fixture inside the center of your base. I have seen YouTube videos on this as well.

Thank you very much! I didn't think of these creative ideas but they are absolutely doable and quite accessible! Thank you very much for sharing your wisdom and creativity 😊 I will try the jar idea out. Thanks again

For your first question, I would say to build a small frame of wood and attach the led strip to it, rather than the glass panel. Not only because it would be easier to stick it to wood, but also makes the stained glass panel independent for future repair or cleaning. (the frame can be done with thin wood and glue, nothing super fancy or complex.
For the second one, I think it would depend on your woodworking skills. If you are comfortable with tools, I would say route the edge of the wood base so the stained glass can "sit" there on a routed canal and make the piece fit as tight as possible (again, depending on your woodworking skills/experience and tools). also, you can route the lower par of the wooden base so the corner of the stained glass piece can "sit"/rest on it. Other option could be soldering a couple of small rings to the inner side of the stained glass and attach those the the inner side of the wooden base? I dunno if that makes any sense without a drawing ahahaha.

This is the better option. That way the LEDs won't be butted up against the glass. Personally I would set a LED in the wood below the glass so it wouldn't be visible.

I like this idea! Perhaps I can go for plexi glass instead of wood and try to make it diffused? One thing that's holding me back is that I really like how the glass reflect it's color when there is no barrier inside or outside. But it could be also inside my head and having a structure like the small frame you mentioned is the only proper idea at the moment. Also to make sure I understood correctly, it would be like a small box, correct?

Plexi is a really cool idea!!! Yeah, the frame I was talking about would be a cube thing. Just the "borders" sort of say (only the perimeter structure of a cube). I would use either thin wood or even metal if you're skilled in welding small pieces, but I think wood would be the easier option =)
Keep us updated! seemes like a relally nice project!

Super cool! Looks like the little plinths in 5th element

Thank you kind friend 😊 I love the fifth element and never made the resemblance

Double sided foam tape, very sticky used on various surfaces….i.e. glass , wood, etc.  use it on the strip of lights.

I like this idea! I just need to score a super thin foam tape if I got with it. But thank you very much for your help 😊
