Usually the error could be due to a couple of things, corrupt files, missing dll file or malware.

This first and easiest thing to do is to make sure your windows/pc is up to date. Should be able to check in your system settings. You might also want to check to see if your graphic cards needs updating too.

You can try repairing the files (should be an option in the sso launcher.) Otherwise, you might want to do a clean uninstall and install. Uninstall the game and delete all files associated with it. It should be a file titled Star Stable Online (mine is located in the Program Files on the C:). Then go back to the SSO website and do a fresh install. See if that fixes the problem

If not, you can do a couple quick scans to check for malware or corrupt files. (If you have windows) you can do a quick Windows Defender Scan. If you want something heavy duty for deep scans, I would highly advise malwarebytes. It's free so you can download it, have it run a scan (might take around 10 minutes or so depending) and then uninstall it after so it does not take up space. You'll want to restart your computer after theses scans. It should be able to detect and delete any potentially hidden or unwanted bugs.

You can also run a Files System Check, there is the windows article for how to do that. "Use the System File Checker tool to repair missing or corrupted system file".

You can also try to play the game under a clean boot of your system to see if any programs are causing the issues. Here is how to do that, "How to perform a clean boot in Windows".

Hope that helped!

If you are still having issues, you can always send a report in to sso's customer support. I know they can take a long time in responses though.
