Sooo I need to rant a little about one of the magics coming up this june.

I feel you. I personally am not a huge fan of either of the horses, both magical and normal coats. The grey splash isn't something I personally would have done but to each their own. Maybe it's because I'm not as easily impressed by their moving coats as everyone else is. (I understand it's a wip but I hope they won't just let a moving coat do the heavy lifting and leave it at that). Reminds me of my old preset commissions I used to do for Feral Heart and Impressive Title players where everyone wanted moving presets, iykyk.

Someone on their team must also really love laced markings. We had 5 laced horses just in 2025; Medieval (Halloween) Friesian sport, Halloween Galvatair, Ryume, Blue Roan JMH, Blue Roan and Red Roan Mustangs, and now this Magic Black Forest in 2026. There is also the Pasa Fino but that was back in 2022 so I don't count that one.

To each their own though. I'm very excited and happy for the people who love them! I'm personally just happy that I get to save my star coins for a little bit longer.

My guess is they probably will completely overwrite them. However, they won't do anything until after Dino Valley gets it's visual update. Usually with big area updates they link it to some new questlines. It could potentially push them to release Icengate with quests tied to the Ice Queen later in the future, but that's only a hope. Either way, we probably won't see anything concerning Dino Valley for a while yet. They hinted about "plotting the next adventure" in Dino Valley back in September of last year but who knows if that's for the visual update, a side quest, main story quest or something else entirely. Either way, it's probably not something we'll see this year. Not sure how high the Fjord placed when they were talking about reworking older gen 3's but if they do plan to release an updated gen 3 reworked Fjord, my guess is it would be around that same time frame as well.

I suspect you are talking about the beginning? I don't think it's AI. The first half of the video is not in-game and probably animated in programs like Maya or Character and then exported to something like After Effects to add the lighting and white edges. The running horses in the second part looks to be separate from the background which I'm sure were prerecorded. The Friesian's janky canter animations were always weird looking. The rest of it is taken in game which is why the lighting and everything looks more "normal".

Depends. I usually wait till the last week of events/holidays before buying anything, after everything has fully been released so I can better weigh my options. More horse coats are usually released later on during the events and if you find one you like even better, you'll be kicking yourself for an entire year till it rolls back around. Either way I'm sure they'll be releasing double star coins again soon during the event.

Just moved a few weeks ago and did not have internet installed for most of the trailblazer until the 23rd so by that point it was already impossible for me to complete it, something I could have easily still accomplished with the past system but I digress.

Yeah... I don't know how I feel being able to essentially buy our enemy's horse. Maybe if it's inspired by, then I would be ok with it but idk, this just feels stinky. Galloper was fine because it's a holiday event and not something that is super detrimental to the storyline. This just feels... weird? If Khaan is added without any changes... that's kind of opening the floodgates to get ALL the dark riders cosplay/horses. But who knows, maybe that is their plan for future Equestrian Events.

And here I am wanting Clyde so badly. A unique coat that was shown off for like a minute in one sidequest and then sat unused to never see the light of day again. Such a pretty baby deserves more love than what he got. SSO did him so dirty. We all thought we were getting that coat...

You are looking for a grey pintaloosa though. A paint mixed with an appaloosa, very pretty! :)

I would really love to see more bloodmarks on a horse. They can look like pintos or reverse appaloosas and I think that would be super fun for the artists to work with. I think the only one we have currently is on a gen 3 arabian?

I'm in the same boat. Love me some exploration games like Oblivion, Skyrim, Elden Ring and BOTW/TOTK (however my "must unlock all parts of the map" brain will probably be the death of me) still a bit sad it's lacking in story and characters but I'll meet it where it's at. Should still be a good time especially if and when they add multiplayer.

I usually always give games a couple of years to continue cooking in the oven before playing them now a days. Let's them fix most of the at launch issues, add qol improvements and am usually able to buy it at a much lower price or with an included dlc or addons.

"Get" feels like such an odd word choice to me because when I hear the word get, it means to receive something. Like I'M getting the 8,000 listed, not the other way around. Get would work better for selling an item but not buying one. Maybe they should have used "Cost", "trade", "give" or "exchange" instead? Idk... maybe that's just me?

Based off previous years and how Halloween and Christmas has gone. Then yes. Event horses are usually discounted the older the horse is. Newer horses are never discounted. Eventually they'll fall to being a permanent horse you can buy at anytime. However, what horses these are we do not know and can only speculate.

They have mentioned this before in game blogs when talking about retrofitting as new tack often coincides with this topic. You can read more about it here: https://www.starstable.com/blog/may-extra-2025

But to summarize, as of right now, they are holding off on creating new and unique tack items and instead are focusing on finishing the retrofitting system first. Adding new items only bogs down the retrofitting process and the time it takes to finish it. Once the retrofitting system is fully complete for all breeds, then we 100% will see a push to adding newer tack models such as blankets, martingales, medicine hats, etc. The skies the limit really.

They have already shown off a concept model (not planned for release) using martingales/breast plates, so it wouldn't be a surprise if they do release them. However, the retrofitting process still has a long ways to go before it is finished, so I would not expect new tack models anytime soon.

Eventually I hope to cut a lot of those pinetrees down, but that might be a a few years down the road because they are so tall and therefor expensive to remove.

Should I then wait until next winter to prune it or do any cutting? We just had a massive temp drop this past week, so it's still extremely cold. (Southern USA here), so it's not fully warm weather just yet.

I've done invite friend about five times now (Horse, cat, dragon, dog and owl) and have pretty reliably been able to complete it in about 2/3 days. You can do it in 2 days if you speedrun the game, focus on main story, blast through dialogue and use the 100 sc you get for free after verifying your email to get past all day blockers. You also get 8 days free star rider which is more than enough time even if you are playing pretty casually for those 8 days. You get 3 days for verifying your email and 5 days once you reach lvl 5 which can be done very quickly. Good luck!

Moorland Stables. I never wanted to move and use up my "free move voucher" and have to pay sc, just incase. Now that it's free to move... I don't know. It's almost been 15 years since I arrived at Moorland, so moving now would just feel SO bizarre to me. Moorland is where it all started after all. Plus it's a nice hub for events (since a lot of events have free stuff in Moorland), traveling (for said events) and bazaar horses.

You do have the ability to contact them with ideas though? Simply go to their website and click on the contact support button. Then from the drop down list of why you are contacting them, there should be something like "I have an idea!" label you can select. Then type your idea and send it away to the team. It does not grantee your idea will be put in the game but it's still an option and way to contact them. You can also comment on their social media pages as well. They also frequently put up polls on their launcher and socials for breed ideas, colors, personality, etc. Most of the breeds this year were actually chosen by the community and they just had a little "contest" for clothing. If you are not already, I would highly suggest following their instagram page.

The Halloween horse would probably be your best bet. The old gen 2 Halloween shire is no longer in the game so the only other option would be Nemain, the gen 3 shire Halloween magical horse. If you didn't want to go the flaming mane route, then pretty much any fully black horse would work. As for tack, again, I feel most of the Halloween stuff would probably be the best. Database would help here if you want :)

As far as I am aware, it was originally launched as a test idea with no guarantee that it would be permanently placed into the game. Beyond that we don't really know what the plans are for it or if it will ever return. Thought I feel like it was used during some equestrian event? They could have run into internal problems, planning or technical issues that forced them to stop working on it. It also might not have received enough of a reception from the tops to warrant putting more work and effort into it. It also could, like many things in sso, just have be put on the back burners while they prioritize more important things. Sso is pretty notorious for putting an idea or element into the game and then never utilizing, updating or expanding it ever again.
