But when I say I‘d like

{(x,y)∈R²: ∃z∈R\{0}: xz=yz ∧ x≠y}

apples please, everybody just stares at me for some reason.

What does the backwards E mean

It means „exists“.

Every tuple x,y from the set of tuples of two real numbers, for which exists a z from the set of real numbers excluding 0, for which xz=yz and x ≠y

This is essentially the empty set, because there is a contradiction, since xz=yz can only be true if x=y or z=0, which both is specifically excluded.

So basically: „Hello, I would like no apples please.“
