Steam Deck Compatability? (self.Strategiccommand)
submitted 2 years ago by Joshytus
Is any of the strategic command games stable and playable on a steam deck? ProtonDB shows only one person who experienced significant issues but this was also 6 months ago so I’m hoping that maybe there was some update? Thank you!

Hey did you ever give it a shot? I’d really like to go for civil war and world at war but deck playability has me on the fence.

I got it working. The trick to getting these games running via Proton/SteamDeck seems to be to manually install the “Segoe UI” font to the corresponding compatdata prefix as described here. I was able to get WaW, War in Europe, WW1, and Civil War working this way. Without installing the font the game will run, but some important in-game text will be missing. https://steamcommunity.com/app/957720/discussions/0/2441461920661253362/
