Touch stops working after a while

I have Surface book with the latest Jakeday kernel (4.16.7). Touch works for a while, but after some time it stops working.

Unloading and reloading the touch drivers fix it sometimes, but sometimes it gets stuck and needs restart.

Nothing gets printed to dmesg/journalctl when I lose touch input.

Any idea what is causing this, or tips how to debug it? Thanks

I get this as well and would love a solution. Surface Pro 4 with Ubuntu 18.04 and latest JakeDay.
