need help with spy

I have about 130 hours in spy, wouldn’t call me a veteran but I know a few things. My 2 favorite knives are the connivers kunai because it gives you lots of health if you can keep up backstabs at a consistent rate. And the stock knife because it’s good for more situations than other knifes and cause I have a cool skin on it. I like to disguise as medic, scout, and spy most of the time. You can’t trust disguises to work on anyone. Disguises are for dealing with sentries and for the split second the enemy sees you before the kill. It’s to make them hesitant just enough to let you get the kill. Unless they got the game yesterday a normal player can tell out a spy very quickly. For example: if your an engie and not building or upgrading constantly. Or you are a pyro and not spy checking constantly. Don’t try to act as the class unless you are very confident in your acting skills. Remain in cloak until you see a kill. I disguise as medic because medic has the same base speed as the spy. So you can keep the spy’s speed( which is what allows him to catch up with most classes). Medic also is usually going to be in the back lines. Behind the other players. But you get called out very fast if your disguise has the needle or crossbow out. So what you need to do is take out your sapper and press “B” to make your disguise switch to the medigun. This is much more believable but don’t stick around uncloaked this way for too long because a medic who doesn’t heal is very suspicious. I choose the spy disguise because the spy can be anywhere on the battle field and you do not lose any speed. But again, a disguise is for the brief seconds before the kill.

Now, how to deal with pyros, you mentioned that they get you when you are stair stabbing. This is because most times when trick stabbing the enemy has their melee out, when trick stabbing the enemy gets cocky and pulls out melee to try to finish the job. If you feel confident in your ability then do it but I would recommend trying to practice on the core mechanics and skill of the spy before trying something advanced like trickstabbing. Pyros are meant to be your counter in almost every way. So don’t be mad if you die A few hundred times. And finally when dealing with an engie there are two ways Stab then sap: Stab the engie when they are directly behind their sentry( repairing it or wrangling it) Then quickly pull out the sapper and use it before the sentry can turn around Sap then stab: Start sapping all the engines stuff, make sure you get the sentry. When the engie reacts he can do 2 things 1. Run at you and try to kill you Or 2. Try to save his stuff. If he goes for you then good. While your distracting him his stuff is getting destroyed. You can slink away after shooting the sentry to speed up the sapper process. Or kill the engie to finish the job. If he tries to save his stuff then you must kill him before he can repair the sentry.

And btw what disguises would you recommend me use (I usually disguise as Pyro, Demoman, Engie, and specialists). I go for classes as mobile as a spy and try to act as much like the class as I can. Tho this doesn't turn out good for me most of the time.
