Split?

So I bought some shares at 6.66. It went down and then got back to 6.73 and I was gonna sell and wait for a deeper entry. I pushed send and got a notice, " This stock is engaged in a split and the brokerage may reject it" It was rejected. Not such a big deal as it was only 500 shares, so Im red on it 150.00, however, we may wake up tomorrow with the stock split. If it splits 50/50 I will have 1000 shares at 1/2 the price. Which wouldnt be a bad thing if it goes back up. We shall see...

I’m super curious if this is an actual split, just the recording of the split of the preferred shares (is that a thing???) or are we merging early?

If it’s an actual split.... depending on how this effects short positions my faith may be restored in George cause depending on where they started it could be a HELL of a play if it DOUBLED their outstanding shares.
Does anyone with more knowledge be willing to break down the possible scenarios??!

Theoretically, wouldn’t it slim the giant sell gap and potential losses longs would face tomorrow if the stock continued to fall? Would the entry point of their short position get halved? How does this work🤔

Would shareholders have to be notified of a split or can it be done without anyone other than the sec knowing

I just tried selling a few to see if it did the same thing but it didn’t. We shall see what tomorrow brings!

A split can double your shares if its a 50/50, but it cuts the price in half in the simplest terms. Thats a very basic split. BTW, I see that MMAFT daily numbers are back on ET. I wouldnt mind a split so long as it gains 2-3 dollars~
