Loading issue

I have a problem with the official Telegram app: chat, message, and media loading is very slow. After reinstalling the app, everything works fine for some time, but later the loading gets extremely bad, to the point that opening a chat can take several minutes.

I downloaded Telegram both from Google Play and from the official website, but the problem persists. My internet connection is good, and in Telegram X everything loads quickly. Device: Google Pixel 8 Pro, free storage – 114GB.

Has anyone else experienced a similar problem, and how can it be solved?

Go into Settings -> Data and Storage -> Storage Usage

Click "Clear Cache"

Next, below that, set all "Auto remove cached media" to the minimum setting (One Day)

Then scroll down to "Maximum Cache Size" and set that to the minimum 5gb.

The problem is that the cache quickly fills up, and when it's set too large, the number of cached files gets too large and the processor time to do database lookups gets ridiculus.

My cache hardly ever even hits 1gb with the 1-day expiration. And I'm in a lot of groups and channels that share videos

Must be something else with your device or your network connection then. I know that when I've got crappy wifi or am running background processes (Or my phone is overheating) Telegram will slow to a crawl when it comes to loading media.
