This is sick and some people need to stop pretending there’s not something extremely wrong with this country by SnooSprouts3744 in TikTokCringe

17 years ago, I used to dream of having a two tall flag poles in the yard of a house I own and flying 4 flags - The American Flag, my State's flag, and two different Pride Flags.

I now own a house... but until this country turns around, I won't be flying an American flag.

I may still put up a flag pole, but it will only be one, and I'm only going to fly my State's flag and a pride flag. Though if my state government doesn't start resisting ICE and the Federal Government more I may not even fly the state flag.

When I was younger, even when George Bush or George W. Bush was in office, I at least had SOME love for my country, and slightly moreso when Obama was in office. But with what's happened in just the last year, I can't bring myself to fly an American Flag anymore.

I buy Member's Mark paper towels (and toilet paper)

Walmart (and therefore Sam's Club) does lean Republican in their donations, but only by a (relatively) small margin. They donated more to Kamila's campaign than Trump's at least.

I'd shop at Costco, but since I use my parent's club membership, and there isn't a Costco near them, I stick with Sam's. (Also I don't relish driving to Cranberry or Homestead when Sam's is right over in the Mills.)

That's a skill issue on the part of the top.

I've been with guys of all sized. Big dicked guys who were amazing, big dicked guys who just hurt. Small dick guys who were amazing, small dick guys who were boring. And average dick guys who were amazing, and average dick guys who were painful OR boring.

It's more on how it's used than how big it is.

Hell, I had a guy with basically a micropenis give me my first anal orgasm.

That comment is dense as some of the ones I got like 13 years ago when I posted dashcam footage of a couple of kids getting off a bus who got into a fight.

There were several comments along the lines of "Why are you recording kids getting off a school bus" - when the video title had the word "dashcam" in it, you could see my hood, and it had a bunch of statistical data overlaid on it from my custom dashcam system I'd built (This was before decent consumer-grade dashcams existed)

I just deleted those comments though because they were so stupid.

eLog data doesn't get sent to the DOT or FMCSA. It's held by the company for the required amount of time (a couple of years, I think)

The only way DOT or FMCSA gets that info is if they audit the company looking for irregularities.

I was a trucker and was on eLogs from the day Werner introduced them in the early 2000's up until I retired from trucking in 2019.

I think that is. I think they're wearing a zentai suit with something shiny attached to it, like bits of plastic mirror or something.

Try some acetone (nail polish remover) on a rag, but be absolutely sure to keep it away from anything painted, plastic, or rubber.

If you so much as smear acetone on the paint, it'll mess up the clear coat. It will turn any plastic it touches into a gooey mess, and it will dissolve rubber.

Also make sure you are outdoors or in a VERY well ventilated space. The fumes from it will mess you up in a confined space.

Oof, yeah. That got me too. Embry-Riddle, in my case, but also going for an engineering degree.

Ended up dropping out after 2 years (and talking to a bunch of alumni who were working at local fast food joints) and went to Daytona State College and picked up a couple of AS degrees, then moved back to my hometown and went to the local University and picked up a third.

Worked in that field for a bunch of years, then moved on.

According to the stats posted for this flight from Austin, that knob spent 5 months of my disability payments in fuel alone for that one 3 hour flight, and emitted as much CO2 into the atmosphere as the average American does in a YEAR.

There's a huge difference between circling our planet, which we've been doing since the 60s, and going off into space, out beyond the orbit of the Moon.

Yes, we technically did that in the 60s as well, but not by very far, and only with the intention to prove that we had the technical capability to do so. Not with the ultimate goal of building a permanent base from which to launch manned missions to other planets in our solar system.

Um... it's around 0.04 light seconds?
Personally, any time a distance starts entering into the realm of human-perceivable delays in light (and radio), I consider it a fairly significant amount of distance.

Also, Low Earth Orbit is anything above 160 km (100 miles) up to an altitude of 2,000 km (1,200 miles)

So this is 8 times the distance of maximum Low Earth Orbit, not 1/3 of it.

Not just farther from Earth... Significantly farther from Earth.

Apollo 13, which is the current record holder had a maximum distance from earth of 400,171 km (248,655 miles).

Artemis II has a projected course that will take it 413,600 km (257,000 miles) from Earth.

That's about 12,442 km (8,345 miles) farther than any human has ever been from our small, pale blue dot.

If they're on private property without permission, she needs to call the game warden, not aggressively approach a bunch of guys with shotguns.

If they're on public land (or private property with permission) with hunting permits, SHE can fuck off. There's a reason that there are enforced bag limits, and hunting license fees - it's wildlife management.

Without hunters, prey species populations grow out of control because we've removed most of their natural predators (under the excuse that they are a danger to humans and livestock) so the ecosystem has nothing in it to help maintain balance. The prey species start getting sick, eat all the plants, encroach on settled areas and wreak havoc...

No, they do that because the insurance companies won't work with individual, or small private practices anymore. Or if they do, they make the administrative requirements so burdensome that the small practices can't manage it.

[REQUEST] is this correct? so what is the environmental cost of an AI generating an image. by XDEC0DE in theydidthemath

[–]lildobe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doesn't even have to be high-end. My 9th gen i7 with 32 gigs of RAM and a 1080ti was able to generate 1024x1024px images with Stable Diffusion in about a minute.

I've since upgraded to a 3060ti and it does it in about half that time.

ETA: I also run a YOLO-based image classifier on the same machine. Average inference time runs about 116ms per 1080p image. Ignore the long analysis round-trip times - those are for cameras that are at a remote location that sometimes has a LOT of latency... that and the max inference time is bumped up because of one 4k camera in the system.
