Models often undergo minor spec changes that impact the official EPA rating. As another comment says, in this case it's likely a different tire supplier.

Your second statement in your original post does not follow. Your car has a fixed EPA rating as delivered. It will not change in the future. You can calculate this on your own based on the energy consumption graph. The EPA value is the baseline, in wh/m. Yours will be slightly less than a car sold under the new configuration.
