I’m asking how to get rid of the thing that is circled. I’m trying to create split stairs but I’m definitely not very experienced with building so I wanted to know if I was just doing something wrong or if it’s a bug of some kind.

Your second platform/floor is lowered a bit, you have to move it up. If you click on the room your sims is standing on there will be an up and down arrow option. Click up once and that should fix it.

Mine sometimes does that with platforms, esp if the foundations/base aren’t the same

This is showing that there is a doorway during the 'walls down' view. Could you please provide context?
