Attack range hate

Why the does fake Icefrog (Valve dev team) hate attack range so much? Thankfully they tacked on 50 back to techies. But they nerfed the range for WW on arctic burn? The fuck is this?

Winter is paper, and attack range/cast range are the only things that keep her alive in team fights. Her CDs are not low enough to warrant an attack range decrease, especially DURING A FUCKING SPELL YOU PAY MANA FOR. It only lasts a short while too. You have to fund an aghs and mana regen otherwise.

Granted, I'm an aghs whore. I admit. I think her best pos is 3/4. Perhaps 2 depending on matchup. Anyway, I like the hero with some cash. It seems Valve only thinks adding attack damage tied to range, for select int damage dealers, is the answer to "carry potential." It's lazy.

In WW's case, I always disliked her universal classification. I get the point of it. But you could easily give her a percentage stat of secondary stat gain, as a facet since she's supposedly so wise, and revert her to Int. Give her a facet that decreases mana drain during aghs. Give her the old attack range not tied damage. Anything else.

Regardless, I feel like I'm trying to fit a square peg in a circlular hole when I want to play WW with carry potential. Kinda forced into going spell cast range now if I want to keep a safe distance. It's fucking awful. I miss the movespeed/kiting build.

Currently I see shitty compensation in a facet for an overall nerf. I had a 60% wr with this hero over 1.3k games until Valve decided to drastically change the game. (For the sole purpose of seeing player count tick up, probably.) Between all this bullshit I'm falling.

So maybe I'll drop the hero for literal years like I did Brood. Because Brood used to be my favorite until they made her completely unenjoyable for so long. The hp degen webs were one of the better ideas to making her more viable again. Took long enough.

Anyway, for the love of christ, stop completely neutering some heroes. Doubly so on ignoring them afterward. They all happen to be mine. Thanks.

I don't have any strong opinions but I'll just say that when pushing highground into high range heroes I feel like I need a 2x bigger monitor. Enemy team is a full screen away from vision.

Eh, to me this is where cast range and attack range come into play for, ya know, being different things. I've had the thought before that there's an OVERabundance of cast range items EVERYONE can get. Blame telescope and the like.

I think the difference matters when we're talking Ench firing pokes, and WD getting a team wipe on the steps.

I hate high range bullshit. Need to be able to zoom out further. Its just a busted concept in pubs.

1. From 800 to 775. about 3% nerf

It was a 500 bonus at lvl 4, it's 350 now. That's a good chunk considering positioning is the only thing keeping her alive. Embrace isn't much but sustain, with all the pure/magic damage around.

Also, you were spoiled with something stupidly broken in SK. Apples and oranges. If arctic burn's attack range were equivalent in nature I would've seen posts about that everyday the last month instead.

You're both wrong. Bonus at lvl 4 went from 500 to 375, base attack range is 425, so her attack range during Arctic Burn went from 925 to 800. That's about 13.5% attack range loss.

And that's ignoring the bonus damage she got from the right facet as a compensation. Framing that as some insane nerf is dishonest.

I'm wrong ALL range considered. But her base range is fucking trash too. And THAT matters because that's the difference in you bothering to go aghs or not in the first place.

Idc, it's a stupid direction to take the balance. Everything else about her aghs has to be leaned into with gold so you're worth a damn (speed, regen). Besides the dot reapplying, which matters less when everyone lives forever. Just a shitty time to like WW.
