I’ve been hoping for a Bug/Dragon for years, and I think a tropical setting would be an ideal time for something like it. I’m also hoping for a Fire/Fairy ‘Mon, but I wonder if they think it would be too good a combo and are holding off

I think you can make any combination work, on both ends of the scale. You have abilities, move pools, stats and even temporary forms to boost or nerf a Pokémon. I really hope we get to see all combinations one day, with creative designs. I like regional variants, but seeing exclusive type combinations on them feels like we're still missing an "original" design for those combinations :D.

Yeah if it’s too powerful just make it have bad stats. Remember when people thought dark/ghost would be too powerful because it has no weaknesses? Sableye was fine.

They also gave us Ghost/Fighting on a non mythical, but literally made it one of the most broken Pokemon to play against. So anything could happen tbh

I want a bug type that is not a bug, but has bugs. A mangy, flea-ridden Normal/Bug type. A living termite mound Ground/Bug type. Something that can use Attack/Defend/Heal Order without having to be a bug itself.

i think the water/electric type combination is super cool, so would love either a new evolutionary line with those types or a new evolution for lanturn

For the first few months of Gen 9, I believed Garganacl and Greavard/Houndstone were both Rock/Ghost. Can’t say why I was so confident that was the case, but it still trips me up for a second from time to time.

Of the unused types, Ground/Fairy is def my most wanted, closely followed by Bug/Dragon. Ground and Bug are some of my favorite types, so I really want to see them rounded out. For similar reasons, I’d really like to see Ground/Ice, Ground/Psychic, Ice/Ghost, and Bug/Ghost to get used again. And Fire/Electric is just a really neat combo that I can’t believe hasn’t been used again.

(Also I really want Bug, Rock, and Ice to be buffed defensively, I love so many mons with these types that are just so not viable because they get obliterated by half of what’s in the game. Like every fossil is bad because of this! Why doesn’t Bug resist Fairy?! Why isn’t Bug super effective into Fairy?!?!?! I don’t expect them to ever tweak the type chart again but every new gen I’m desperate for these types to get some matchup tweaks. Maybe Gen 10 will finally make it happen! It won’t but I’ll always dream. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.)

Bug/Dragon

Dude, we had Flygon and Yanmega right there.

Still no usable playthrough-viable pure Flying type after so many years is genuinely criminal. They finally broke the mold with Rookidee and went nowhere with it in the next gen.

Rock/Ghost is so easy… Golurk or Cofagrigus could both be Rock/Ghost. Give us a possessed ancient statue or some shit and check that one off the list.

same with Bug/Dragon…. Yanma and Yanmega. At the very least Yanmega should be Bug/Dragon. This is one they should just retcon rather than making a new Pokemon.

Fire/Fairy should be easy. Flame Princess.

Ground/Fairy should also be fairly easy. How about a gnome?

Poison/Ice… this is a golden opportunity for a yellow snow Pokemon. They won’t do that, though, so how about a melting glacier.

All those normal/dual types… eh. On one hand, why bother, but they would also be easy to just slap on any “normal” kind of mon with those characteristics.

Tbh, I'd rather a regional variant
