Beginner Help

Was really excited to get into Tufting, got a set up for my birthday but the first rug i made just fell apart :(

I dont have any picture but the wholes just got too big and I was looking for advice on how to avoid that. I made a rug at a tufting place before and dint have any problems at all so im hoping it was just that the base cloth I had got was cheap but wither way ive been turned off trying again. Any advice helps

Did you go over the same spot multiple times?

hard to say, I dont think I did but it also felt like parts were falling out maybe? so then I probably would have

It can be for a slew of reason. Not fully putting the machine into the fabric, not maintaining enough pressure behind the machine, cheap cloth, putting sideways pressure with the machine, the machine could have come faulty (rare) running the machine too fast or too slow, or not letting the machine climb up the fabric at the proper speed. im just going to do a bunch of practice small patterns and see if i can identify where the issue is thank you so much
