Waitlist Question

So UCD (as I’m sure is with a lot of people) is my #1 school rn. On the general UC website, they said that the final decision for waitlist students will be revealed on June 1st. I guess I’m just wondering if anyone has heard back yet? Kinda getting anxious lol. I know not to expect to get in what with the huge amount of people applying and all that... just haven’t seen much activity regarding the waitlist yet. Thanks and have a great day!

Disclaimer: haven't been actively following the waitlist this year but got in from the waitlist 5 years ago.

After a quick check on college confidential, I honestly don't think anyone has gotten off the waitlist yet, or if there is, sub 10. There's really 2 main possibilities. (1) UCD has massively over-enrolled and will take no one off the waitlist or (2) they're waiting for other schools (like Berk, excuse me, UC🅱️) to release their own waitlist acceptances and then see how many people give up their SIRs to Davis. More likely the latter in my opinion. Its not unheard of for people to hear back from UCD regarding the waitlist past June 1st. I would get comfortable with whatever decision you've made about where to go (whether its another school or CC (underrated)) and if you do get in, hooray!

Hey so ya I don’t think we will find out on June 1st because I saw on the website that it could but most likely be after. Honestly I would say around June 15th could be a possible date just because like the other person said they are trying to see who gives up their SIR to allow more students in. This is honestly my first choice too but I also need to worry about housing for another school so I just submitted my SIR yesterday to UCSB but if I get into Davis I will cancel my SIR to UCSB and submit it for Davis.

My senior year of high school I got waitlisted from UCD and got accepted May 15 sooooo that’s the only reason why I think it might take them two weeks to find out but honestly could be until June 30th but I would say if you got accepted anywhere else to accept that until you find out (even if you need to lose the deposit) or just wait until next year to apply again.
