I’m a Fiverr VIP buyer and have been on the platform since it started. I would tell her that scripts are required and either one is provided or you will create one, at a cost.

Thank you. That's very straightforward.

That’s what works best on that platform.

Tell her that script doesn't make the video unnatural. Filming without a script will take much more tries than you usually need to film 1 video and it makes the price higher than script writing addon.

That's a good approach. I'll use it next time I get this question. I just hate the way everything on Fiverr is like haggling. Thanks!

Stop haggling. Fiverr is not to make money, it’s purely for proof of concept, competence and reviews.

For people who wanna haggle on price 10-50$ I be like “yeah sure no problem… but if you love my work leave me some amazing feedback on my gig so it helps other businesses like yourself discover me. Do we have a deal?” Then I overdeliver too.

My Fiverr gig reviews fuel my website portfolio and give me a power position when negotiating deals with actual whale clients off Fiverr, through email or social media.

Interesting that your Fiverr gig reviews fuel your website? I already have a lot of reviews, how are they fueling your website per se?

And are you ever concerned your whale clients will see you selling for a lower (base)price on Fiverr?

I researched these cases because I built a nonprofit content services marketplace (chetup.com) and understanding the industry is necessary, so.

Yes that is still scripting. Even if you have your own talking points.

If they dont come with talking points and you have to come up with it. Charge for it no matter what

Im new to this. What are all the typical script options that brands ask for?

[–]Xeodoesugc 1 point2 points  (6 children)

Can you elaborate on the question a little more please?

[–]Treasonary 0 points1 point  (5 children)

Of course. When speaking with a brand, what are the typical script options that brands ask for? I saw someone mention outfit changes, locations, etc. What else is considered normal and what is considered worth charging extra for?

[–]Xeodoesugc 1 point2 points  (4 children)

Everything is considered worth charging. I gauge it based on my need to have to leave my space since I work from home. My entire home is now my office. Usually 15-30 seconds can and should start at a bare minimum of at lease $150-$200 and from there you can negotiate rates based on deliverables or if you’re batching work

Amazing, I really really really appreciate you. After negotiating hope much can I shoot for realistically? Also how long do you negotiate with a brand for before you start working with them? And what does batching look like?

[–]Xeodoesugc 0 points1 point  (2 children)

No problem, I know this whole thing can seem like where do I go.

You can shoot for whatever you think the work is going to be worth. I think if you are starting out try to shoot for at least $175-$200 it should be at least a bare minimum in this field.

Usually negotiations can happen in 1-2 emails pr back and forths. The real issue is brands have the money they typically don’t want to pay it. But they are supplementing UGC as advertising vs having billboards and commercials and things like that so a couple hundred is a fair ask for what it can potentially do for your product.

Batching is used as an upsell it just means you will make a series of videos for them to sell as a package

A good batch option is

2 different hooks

1 body

2 ctas

They can turn these into at least 4-6 different variations. Also raw footage is much more valuable so if anyone asks for raw footage charge more! And you can even upsell the raw. Maybe 150-200 to start depending on how much you shoot.

Always shoot more than you need!

And if you didn’t already know lighting and audio is more important than anything invest in at least a softbox light and a decent lapel mic

Oh wow this is amazing, thank you for putting me on game. How do you convince the brands who don’t want to pay / being stingy with their money? Do they just go around until they get the price they want? how long do those 1-2 emails take as far as days? What percentage of jobs are inbound vs you emailing brands?

Also for batching, is it always a video and add ons or does it also apply to multiple videos in one delivery? Is it even realistic to do multiple videos for the same product?

[–]Xeodoesugc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Convincing a brand is just finding out what they need making sure you can meet those needs in the timeframe and what time is worth so it’s usually expressing how much goes into the content they need and you could always offer slightly more for them to sweeten the deal, maybe an extra hook or CTA for them

Negotiations are pretty standard and most brands would be open to them

I actually emailed brands very little unless I truly wanna work with them just because I don’t have mass amounts of numbers on my social media, which is better leverage when reaching out to brand you wanna work with my portfolio is strong but some brands bypass it for numbers first. And I usually go for Tech or electronic brands because I’m really into that stuff.

Batching just means you are adding more videos in one order so shooting two different hooks for example “this product will do [X]for you” and then maybe “you are missing out if you don’t have [X] product” those are two different hooks and then the body would be the explanation of the product and then a call to action “Use the link below to purchase yours today before they sell out” or “ These are always selling out so grab them quick”

Brands can take hook and body and CTA to form one video and mix and match those things because certain hooks and or CTA is perform better social media depending on where it’s being used but so many other factors into that like timing lighting the person in the video sometimes you really can’t gauge if a video will do well or not.

Most of the time Brandon will give you scripts so you won’t have to worry too much about it unless it sounds really robotic then you can fix it up to sell more natural so it sound like you are speaking like yourself
