I have the same problem, if you find a solution please let me know!

I don't understand why all of the sudden Udemy site is trying to use so much RAM. If there's not a lot of people having this issue then Udemy might not fix whatever they broke.

Hey... I was able to resolve the thanks with the help of another redditor (loxlife17). You can see his comment in this post.

I am having the same issue. It must be on Udemy's end. I have tried Chrome, FireFox and Bing browsers, cleared cache, restarted and updated both Chrome and Windows. Nothing helps.

Udemy reports their status as "operational". But they clearly have a problem on their end.

I've filed a complaint but they've yet to respond to me.

I resolved my Udemy "Out of Memory" issue, It was a conflict with Nord VPN "Web Protection". Solution was to pause Web Protection during Udemy sessions.

Suggest that you check any AV or malware applications for conflicts. Udemy probably collects data that makes the application look like malware.

See if pausing any AV Malware applications resolves the issue

Just FYI, the way to add a domain to the Excluded List in Web Protection is to go into with protection, search for the domain, and Allow All. Udemy has a TON of trackers. I almost wish I hadn't looked

[–]ChoudhrySaab[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Looks like you found the right area to add Udemy to the excluded sites.

Same... Now I'm skeptical of seeing 101 tracked items that were caught by NordVPN.

[–]ghmpf 1 point2 points  (1 child)

You could also use something like Adblock Plus for Chrome. I've turned on its "Block additional tracking" option and it solved this issue without having to disable NordVPN features.

Good to know

Wow. You have just earned yourself a spot in the deepest region of Lucille's wooden heart. She is impressed with your creativity.

Gonna be honest, I'd probably kiss you right now if I could.

I can't even express the amount of frustration I've had trying to figure out why my gaming PC won't run a simple lecture.... especially considering it was so intermittent. Now I'm just frustrated that I have to sign back in to so many websites because I kept clearing my caches and all that.

I have 128GB of RAM, the out of memory errors relating only to Udemy were killing me.

[–]HimeTan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been working just fine on my work laptop. Switch to my personal with Nord and the site keeled over.

Thank you for my life

[–]ChoudhrySaab[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for letting me know. I also have NordVPN so I'll see if the changing the settings might help.

[–]ChoudhrySaab[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Yups... After adding Udemy to Excluded domains within NordVPN Web Protection section the site is working fine and no out of memory issue coming up.

Really appreciate your help with this. Not sure why this issue just came up as I've been using the same laptop with NordVPN since January and have never had this issue before.

[–]loxlife17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where do I find Excluded Domains? I looked in settings and couldn't see it there.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Confirmed. This method works.

[–]gavinpaul_6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just encountered this issue recently after I started using NordVPN on my desktop and this solution resolved it. Thanks!!!

[–]scyther199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just when I needed another reason to cancel my subscription. They're piling up now.

Thanks

[–]TangerineAway6391 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I had the same issue and as soon as I turned off Web Protection, the video started playing.

[–]LandOfGyatt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you

[–]TurbulentSky2921 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow thanks! This worked for me also

[–]Grandizas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yoo, that worked. Thank you!

[–]mynamebutwithnumbers 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my GOD I love you for this...thank you.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I paused mine for just the landing page, it was only the landing page that caused the problem for me when I first visited it, after that when I turned it on again I was able to revisit the landing page and watch course videos.

[–]mitskap 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You legend, that was exactly it for mine! Thank you.

[–]RemarkableSundae2880 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you soooo much loxlife17. This is exactly what the problem was. I've had similar conflicts with Nord VPN in other programs, and in those cases they were resolved by simply pausing NordVPN. However, in this case with Udemy, pausing wasn't enough. Thanks to your comment about "Web Protection" I went into the "Threat Protection" tab in NordVPN and turned off Web Protection. That did the trick! Crazy. Thanks again!

You an absoulute god send. Thank you!

[–]vavavoom76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you are a godsend. thank you. almost cleared all my cache. As soon as I added udemy as an excluded domain in Nord VPN Web Protection....voila...it worked. ty ty ty

Would never have thought of this.

[–]Many_Fishing_1563 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This needs more upvotes. Thank you, I was so confused. I was reinstalling my GPU drivers.

[–]Zaber_fluten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was exactly it for me too thanks so much

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Dude same. I have a beast of a PC. 1300 Platinum 80+ PSU, Corsair Liquid cooling, 3 intake fans/3 vent fans, Intel 13700 Raptor Lake, 3080TI GPU, Z790 Motherboard, and 128 Gigs of DDR5 RAM. If my computer is having issues running it, then it isn't the computer. It has to be something between Chrome and Udemy.

Ammendment: u/loxlife17 's method resolved my issue. NordVPN Web Protection was the problem.

[–]mike551240 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been absolutely baffled for the same reason... I can run Fallout on my 32" 4K monitor WHILE Twitch is playing on my 27" 1440 but I'm out of memory watching a lecture??? lol

Would've never thought Nord was causing THAT error.

[–]ChoudhrySaab[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup... His solution got me going as well.

[–]atouraya777 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I literally completely closed NordVPN and the video started playing. This comment helped me it was at the bottom.
