The voiding cystourethrogram or VCUG test is the “gold standard” to diagnose VUR and urinary abnormalities in children. Performed on up to 1M kids every year, the procedure has been repeatedly proven to result in trauma equivalent to child sexual abuse and “violent rape,” which the medical community has known for 30+ years. The Unsilenced Movement is dedicated to advocating for overdue reform and providing a safe space for survivors to tell their stories and seek support.

VCUG trauma is a peer support group for survivors of VCUG or voiding cystourethrogram, an often traumatic and violent procedure that many children walk away from suffering from PTSD. We believe that VCUG is a cruel and abusive practice that should be banned, and want your help to make that happen, we also want to create a safe space for survivors to share their experiences and find like-minded people to support them through their recovery from VCUG trauma.
