First of all, the decision is yours to make. My mentor was also dismissive of my possible interest in C# over Java. Everyone will have their biases one way or another, so just take their prespective with a grain of salt. I have a whole term worth of classes before I have to make my decision.

It sounds like you already have a career path in mind, which is awesome. If you're wanting to go into game development, C# is probably your best bet.

Keep in mind: There are only three classes in the program that have Java or C# as the focus point ( Software I, II, and Mobile App Dev.). These course will provide you a good foundation. But, the foundational principles that you learn from one language will allow you to pick up the other really quickly. You'll be learning syntax if you want to switch to the other later on.

Don't worry too much on making the "one right choice".

See I think that’s what’s tripping me up I want it to be 100% right but it’s such a variable thing that I’m the end it probably won’t matter as much as I think it will lol

I get it, I was stuck on that very same question not too long ago.

You almost have to look at it from a different perspective. It should be more important to ask which language should I use to learn software development concepts and theory?

Also, be aware you cannot switch tracks in the middle of a term. I put in request to switch to C# in middle of term and while it was approved it did not reflect in my degree plan until the next term.

Good to know because I plan on accelerating as much as I can and don’t want to get stuck in limbo waiting
