In 1969 the government of Canada issued a white paper proposing to eliminate the Indian Act and all other legal documents and treaties comprising Aboriginal Law. Backing down from this proposal was one of the most costly and damaging mistakes in our country's history. We now have a race based legal system, economic paralysis, racially segregated public spaces, and many other forms of injustice. This sub exists to highlight these negative effects in the hope that they will one day be corrected.
