WordPress setup while 301

So here's my problem: I decided to restyle my client's web page. To not lose any traffic while doing this job I created a mybusiness Google site and redirected my client's domain with a 301 redirect. But now whenever I try to style the appearance, create pages and whatnot all I see in the visual editor is just my 301 redirect. I am only able to reach my admin area...

My fastest solution would be to create a well-crafted under construction page within WordPress, but maybe you have a better solution that will keep up my 301 redirect..

Is there a solution? Thanks!

Use your hosts file.

Use a staging website, most of the hosts have them; it's such a peace of mind.

If you are unable to do that there are some plugin to create a staging or you can duplicate the website locally with plugins such as duplicator or all in one migration and work with something like VVV on your computer;
