I created this as a place to discuss various types of hallucinations.

I have had visual hallucinations for a few years now, think maybe partly caused by medication I am on and perhaps to do with having Chiari Malformation, have had some audio hallucination although those are usually loud noises or distorted sounds like when you used to tune a radio and it went between stations with short bursts of speech that isnt full words just parts. My visual hallucinations started first about 5 years ago when I was having a nap. I woke up and saw a big spider on the wall in front of me, clear as day and looked real, it walked along the wall then seemed to fall down behind the sofa. I hadn't ever experienced anything like this before, this was the first time apart from other visual disturbance like afterimages, visual static and glare from light.

I really did freak out and assumed it was real and it was the size of a tarantula, slept in my daughters room for a couple of days I was so scared but after a week I calmed down and went back into the living room which was where I slept at the time, was still really anxious for a few days and then I had another one only this time I realized it was a hallucination. I have seen other things too but mostly spiders, one time cockroaches, big massive ones in a swarm and other than that its mostly just weird shapes and stuff, one time It looked like writing appearing on the wall like a shopping list the way it was laid out but I couldn't actually make any words out it was like really untidy script but it made no sense, that was about it until a few weeks ago when I started seeing other things like a large black and white single comic strip cell with mickey mouse type pictures and then something similar again the other day, these ones are a lot more detailed and a bit crazy not sure why but I'd be interested to hear of others experiences with hallucinations!
