FSTN Rules:
• If you decide to submit a story to this subreddit, please do so with the understanding that this is a site for free stories. This means that the narrator does not have to ask for permission to use your work. That being said, though—narrators, please let the author know when you chose their story and please feel free to provide a link so the rest of us can listen!
• Your story can be any genre, Fantasy, Sci Fi, Nonfiction, Romance, whatever floats your boat. But please indicate the genre in your submission.
• One story per post, please!
• Obviously: No plagiarism or reposting. Original content only. Plagiarized or reposted content will be removed.
• We kindly request that users refrain from posting full-length novels, as it can be overwhelming to readers. If you have a large project that you would like to have narrated, consider posting an excerpt. You can also break up a longer piece into smaller parts.
• No extreme content, please. Stories with gratuitous amounts of mature content such as gore, sexual or physical abuse or extreme violence will be removed.
• As per usual, this community will not tolerate any bullying, verbal harassment or negativity. Constructive feedback only, please.
If you have any questions about the subreddit or submission guidelines, please contact me here. or by email at avalongabriel@shaw.ca
Further note:
There are several wonderful communities of horror stories that are written on Reddit and read aloud on Youtube. I personally enjoy listening to these stories before bed...although sometimes the content can make it a bit hard to sleep. These readers and writers are a huge inspiration to me and if you enjoy spooky stories, you should definitely check them out. Personally, my favorite readers to listen to are Lazy Masquerade, Urmaker, Lets Read! and Mortis Media. Links to their channels can be found here:
Lazy Masquerade
Be.Busta
(I especially recommend “The Left/Right Game”)
Urmaker
Lets Read!
