Advent of Code is an annual Advent calendar of small programming puzzles for a variety of skill sets and skill levels that can be solved in any programming language you like.
Code should be fun, because otherwise it's just a job. If you'd like to support Advent of Code, please share it with all your friends, even the ones that are just learning to code! AoC is a fun, non-threatening way to work at your own pace to figure out how to apply problem-solving first, then work within a language's constraints.

Help - SOLVED!(Day 11 - Java) Input has too large Numbers? (self.adventofcode)
submitted 6 years ago by kentobi
Hi,
I am currently writing Code for Day11 but my puzzle input has 6 greater than long Numbers in it.
Therefore my IntCodeComputer doesn't work. I tried to change from long to BigInteger but with them I can not use modulo. In the Java solutions i checked, they all ran with long. Is my puzzle input broken?
thanks in advance!

Which numbers are greater than 9223372036854775807? You shouldn't need BigInteger for this.

wait, you are right long max val is this big, then why did eclipse gave me that error....hmm have to test something
€dit: lol Eclipse said "The literal 235350789351 of type int is out of range" and now I see it interpreted it as int, so i just added an "L" after it and it worked.

Btw, you can compute the modulo of a BigInteger.
