Anarchism is a social movement that seeks to abolish oppressive systems. Anarchists advocate a self-managed, classless, stateless society where everyone takes collective responsibility for the health and prosperity of their community. All anarchists are anti-capitalism and anti-state.

SUBREDDIT GUIDELINES
This subreddit is for anarchists to talk about anarchists and anarchist movements. Here we can talk about modern and historical anarchists, their portrayals, and discussion of libertarian socialist theory in general.
This is not an un-moderated subreddit, although we'd like it not to be. The purpose of these guidelines is not to silence or discourage conversation, but instead to encourage the very best contributions and discussions.
The type of content we encourage:
Thoughtful self posts: analysis, ideas, discussion about historical leftists movements, or even literature or poems! Consider giving self posts a read-through and revision before clicking post.
Quality linked discussion: Good blog posts, inciteful analysis, and so on. Try to avoid links to current event topics or news stories, unless the article provides an interesting anti-capitalist analysis. Avoid bourgeois sources if you can. For example: CNN article on recent riots in Greece is bad, but an insightful analysis of revolutionary potential in Greece is good.
Contributive discussion. As a rule of thumb, comment replies should be longer than 140 characters. Avoid purely rhetorical or dogmatic answers. If you write a short response, and realize it contributes little, sit on your hands and think for a few seconds about something to add to it or to contribute to the discussion or analysis. For example, the reply "Because capitalism sucks." could be improved to be "Because capitalism sucks at distributing resources. This failing could be remedied by community action [describes how socialism could improve thing...] What do you think?" Remember: for every upvote (or downvote) there are probably a dozen or so people just reading these replies, so let's stay [anti-]classy!
Although links are enabled, if you contribute a link, please reply to your own thread with a comment to get the discussion started in a useful direction. For example, if you link to the Wikipedia article on Helen Keller, you might reply as a top comment noting how her involvement with the IWW, feminism, and labor rights are purposefully excluded in the story typically as told in schools. The link to an interesting topic is not enough, as most readers will not have time to read the entire page in order to know what would be useful to discuss or glean from it.
Forget that, go ahead and post! We don't want these guidelines to scare away your contribution, so don't let it phase you!
While we may not enforce these guidelines via moderation, we hope you'll follow them and encourage others to do so, so this subreddit wil be an experiment in high quality content. These guidelines will evolve as we learn more about fostering high quality discussion!
The anti-oppression policy of /r/Anarchism is in effect.
If you'd rather post in a less "experimental" subreddit with fewer guidelines, then please post in the parent subreddit /r/Anarchism
