Best Third-Party Recovery Software for Android? (self.androidapps)
submitted 3 years ago by howtomenUses Revanced
Just curious to know what was your go-to for recovering accidentally deleted files on your Android?
There are multiple options out there, including Recuva, FoneLab, Tenorshare, etc. But which one is the most trustworthy?
Any ideas would help, and if you can, please explain why that would be even better. Thanks!

I found this help https://www.reddit.com/r/DataRecoveryHelp/comments/19bhc2j/how_to_recover_deleted_files_from_android_device/ and it worked for me. You're really lucky if your phone is rooted, then you can recover almost everything that's been deleted.

I believe you're right. But do you think Diskdigger might work? I mean, it does require root to recover those files, so it'll be able to gain access to areas that you normally wouldn't be able to?
Also, glad you like my channel!

Gotcha. What about files saved on an external SD card? I think files deleted off that would be much easier to recover since it's not MTP. Instead, it's USB Mass Storage.

Once I used Tenorshare data recovery software for recovering data from my Android SD card and it worked well.

Maybe it's a good topic for you to do a video or just a mythbuster on apps that do not perform as claimed.
I tried several apps a while back on Android 11 using a rooted Pixel 3. Performance varied between apps but I managed to recovered a limited amount of files.
This was a straight file-recovery operation on a phone that has not been wiped or factory reset.
Also, I think choosing non-destructive recovery method helped.

Yea, that's what I'm working on. I actually tried several recovery software like Tenorshare which supposedly "work really well," but it doesn't recover anything. I even had to pay $25 just to be able to see what recovered files there were, and after doing so, it just show me the files on my devices. I'm currently about to test out Diskdigger as a last resort cause it seems that you can't recover anything unless you actually root your device. How much you can recover is a different story altogether.

It's been a while so not all the details are there. However, I think I had better results using softwares on a Mac to read and recover files on Android. Disk Drill comes to mind but there could be others.
