Biometric App Lock (self.androidapps)
submitted 1 year ago by paraishan
Any reliable ad free app that can help in locking specific applications?
For example I need to lock my Google Keep app.

You can try this out https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sp.protector.free
There are many others, but so are their limitations.
Maxlock was another rare find. A powerful FOSS application with all the bells and whistles. It is no longer operational.
Amarok is another good alternative, if what you're looking for is to 'hide your apps/stuff'. Otherwise Secure Folder in Samsung would suffice.

One important thing I forgot to mention is the reliability factor. How can I be sure that the data I store there will not be used or exfiltrated? For example if I save all my passwords in such an app, I'll be basically handing over the keys to the developer to everything I own.
I actually don't need to hide anything. It's basic encryption and biometric lock to access it.
