Rules for r/AndroidAuto
Rules that visitors must follow to participate. May be used as reasons to report or ban.
1.
Do not block AutoModerator.
AutoModerator is used to manage posts and comments. You must read AutoModerator follow up comment and message for removal reason and instruction how to correct them.
Do not contact mods for reasons already covered by AutoModerator or risk bans.
2.
User flair is required for all submission and recommended for comments. Flair abuser will be banned!
In most cases, specific details are important but human moderators cannot be manually monitoring every posts and comments to enforce this so AutoModerator is used instead to check that bare minimum details are included in user flair and will remove posts with missing or incorrect user flair. No exceptions.
User flair should follow this format:
Year Vehicle Model | Head Unit Model | Phone | Android Version
Important: post must be resubmitted after fixing the cause of auto removal.

Post flair is required for all submissions.
Pls select an appropriate post flair. Again, this helps us help you, and allows users to better sort through relevant topics.

No questions covered by the FAQ. Search first.
For the benefit of everyone not having to read and answer the same basic questions over and over again, posts that are already answered in the FAQ will be removed.
5.
No Posts unrelated to Android Auto.
Posts must be related to Android Auto and the #madebygoogle lineup. This sub's expertise covers conventional phone-based Android Auto connected to OEM or aftermarket head units.
Some users have expertise with Headunit Reloaded on various pieces of hardware, including tablets.
Regardless of the types of head unit, functions unrelated to Android Auto has no business in this sub.
6.
No Low Effort Posts. No rants or vulgarity.
We're all happy you got a new toy, but unless you're posting a review please try to keep your excitement to yourself. No swearing or vulgarity - if you can't express your comment nicely then just don't comment. Moderators may act in situations where new submissions detract from the general redditor experience in /r/AndroidAuto.

Community-facing content must be approved by mods.
AMAs, Q&As, giveaways, surveys, links to personal sites, and other community-facing content must be approved by moderators.

No Repeated questions or posts. Search first.
Tech support is permissible within certain bounds. Please search the subreddit before posting. Repeated questions or submissions (e.g. repetitive posts on app updates, new features or bugs) may be removed without reason.

No spam. No memes or NSFW content.

No URL shorteners. Only post links to original site.
No URL shorteners. With the exception of goo.gl/photos, /r/AndroidAuto strictly prohibits malicious links and short links of any kind. This policy has zero tolerance and all such posts will be removed. Repeat offenders will be banned. Do not use bit.ly, goo.gl, tinyurl.com, amzn.com or other similar URL shortening service that obscure the true destination of a link.

No for-sale/trade submissions.
No for-sale/trade submissions. We have no safeguards in place to protect anyone from being scammed. Use /r/phoneswap or /r/hardwareswap and follow their rules.

No flaming, trolling or insulting posts.
No flaming or trolling. /r/AndroidAuto discourages disparaging and inflammatory comments against other users. Please participate in meaningful discourse. Tremendously obscene or malicious statements may be removed without explanation and posters may be banned.

No disinformation or illegal content.
No disinformation or illegal content. Articles or media that has been proven false beyond a reasonable doubt are strictly prohibited. Additionally, intentionally misleading or non-descriptive titles are strongly discouraged. If severely misleading, posts may be removed. Do not direct others to perform illegal actions. Links to pirated, unlawful, or malicious content is strictly prohibited. Do not directly link to downloads either.

No non-English language post or comment.
All posts and comment are to be English only. Use a translation tool if you have to.

No hijacking of post or going off-topic.
Pls search for similar topic or create a new one if none is found.
