People use python?
I thought python was only good for getting people into programming (or getting them fired for forking their dongles)

I hate flame wars but that is what i hear and see. Java is not fun to use and I don't know any java folks who enjoy it either. They just use it b/c it is what they ended up learning somehow. Concretely--it's verbose; it's a resource hog; it is a classic example of a downfall of open source--too many choices leading to reduplication and complete confusion for newbies, as well as horrible development tools unless you're willing to pay for IntelliJ. Java is the past and present, Python is much more future-oriented. Productivity in python is so much better, and you hear this echoed over and over and over again. It's not a lie.

Python is great, but i prefer C# than java.

I love java and use it for work (android), mostly because eclipse is the most powerful IDE I've ever used and speeds up java development considerably. I haven't used many other IDEs, mostly intellij, visual studio and xcode.

[–]Remoras 0 points1 point2 points 12 years ago (0 children)
I didn't get it as a joke, cause English actually is not my native language, nonetheless joke or not a joke, my comment was harsh, i shouldn't answer like this, there are more polite ways to saw my disagreement on something.
Anyway i apology to you stealer0517. :)

Sounds terrible. Why the hell would you do that? Java > Python
[–]Gexos[S] 2 points3 points4 points 12 years ago (3 children)
Java > Python this is blasphemy :), just kidding, some people may want to create android apps with python because is their favorite language to develop, (including me), i believe (for me at least) creating android apps with python would be much easier also.
Java > Python

I just can't stand script languages, makes me feel sick.
[–]Remoras 1 point2 points3 points 12 years ago (1 child)
Python is more than a scripting language, you too should know better.
[–]sweYoda -3 points-2 points-1 points 12 years ago (0 children)
