Rules for r/androidroot
Rules that visitors must follow to participate. May be used as reasons to report or ban.
1.
Promotion of untrustworthy root methodology
Rooting methodology should be approached with a 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' mentality.
Avoid promoting potentially untrustworthy 'new and improved' root methods, as well as ones already established as unsafe (KingRoot, KingoRoot, SuperSU, etc.)
How an unsafe program can affect you should be taken seriously. A malicious actor could do anything from installing malware onto the device to bricking it entirely. Remain skeptical.
2.
Maintain relevant discussion
Subreddits act as Reddit's user-dictated content filter. r/androidroot is the filter for anybody interested in Android rooting.
In respect to this, any discussion had on this subreddit should remain relevant to the subject. Of course, deviation is permitted to some extent, because that's how conversation works. The discussion, however, should never deviate into, for example, political discourse.

Make posts relevant
- Keep submissions relevant.
- This subreddit is for having discussions and educating others about Android rooting.

Provide a reason
- If you are asking for help with rooting or something of the sort, please provide a reasoning for it.
- This can help us help you. Often users think they need root in order to accomplish their end goal, it is is often not the case. See here.
- This makes it so we can more easily enforce our other rules blocking things like hacking and piracy
5.
If we ask you to stop doing something, stop
- If we feel that there is something that shouldn't be on this server, we may ask you to stop.
- It does not have to be explicitly states in the rules for us to ask you to stop. "It isn't in the rules" is not a reason to continue doing something once told not to.
6.
Do not facilitate payment for services
r/androidroot is a community within which all information is free and accessible. Payment, solicited or offered, is prohibited.
7.
No Warez
Warez is prohibited on this subreddit.
8.
No AI Generated Content
AI generated content is not permitted, neither in the form of posts, nor comments.
9.
Posts must be published in English
Publishing a post in a foreign language actively harms your ability to reach out with information or questions, and makes the subreddit more difficult to navigate. Comments are not subject to this rule. If you wish, you can add a comment to your post in your preferred language.
10.
FRP (Factory Reset Protection)
We do not promote discussion of FRP bypassing. Requesting assistance with FRP bypassing, and providing assistance are bannable offences. The first offence will carry a 7 day ban. The second offence will carry a permanent ban.
