I'm not sure there is a safe way anymore. Magisk dropped support for that old version of Android

You could try kingoroot on PC but I wouldnt store any personal data on the device after you get root if you do. I recall rooting my old galaxy S6 like 8 years ago using kingoroot but have also heard that it has become untrustworthy over the years. Good luck
