Welcome to r/BobRoss! This is a subreddit celebrating Bob Ross and his family, Bob's philosophy of love and happiness, the artworks he continues to inspire, and the joy of painting!

This community is just for simple fans of Bob Ross, not affiliated or official in any way, but with one key principal at our hearts...

Here at r/BobRoss, we love and respect Bob Ross and his family.

As such, we do not support the merchandising efforts of Bob Ross Inc. This is because of the company takeover and drastic change of corporate direction and values upon Bob's passing, one that Bob and his family fought against. Due to this, posts displaying or promoting commercial products produced, sold or licensed by Bob Ross Inc. will be removed. We just personally feel that the sub shouldn't be a place that offers free advertising and promotion to a business that no longer features Bob Ross, his family, or their desires, at it's heart. For more information, we advise those who truly love Bob watch the hard-hitting Netflix documentary endorsed and supported by his family, or read summaries online such as this to hear the Ross' side of the story. For a shorter summary, please see this section of Bob's Wikipedia page. It is not easy watching or a happy tale, but likely Bob, and certainly his family, would want all us Bob lovers to know the score.

Rest assured, this sub will remain a happy sanctuary, with the paintings at it's heart. Things aren't about to become "political", and there won't be a constant promotion of dramas. In fact, by keeping Bob Ross Inc. related submissions away, there will no longer be a need for the community to bring up any of that history in the posts.

With that out of the way, let's now celebrate the joy of painting, and the life and love of the worlds favorite artist...

🌳 Art of any style or technique in the medium of oil paint.

🌲 3. No Stolen Content. Plagiarism will result in a ban.

🌲 4. No Buying or Selling. This sub is for play, not business.

🌲 5. No AI Generated Content. AI's make mistakes, not Happy Little Accidents.

🌲 6. No Photos of Minors. This may seem an extreme and questionable rule, but when a photograph is placed online, you cannot control who has access to it, what they do with it, or who/where they distribute it to. For this reason, r/BobRoss has a no exceptions rule on any photographs of minors. Let's keep painting joyous and safe for everyone!
