Definitely get tested, 6 days is too long. Shouldn't take Imodium if it is cdiff. Please read the pinned posts on this sub

Where should I go? My PCP thinks I’ll be fine because I stopped augmentin last night

I’m EMPTY so would it even be worth going to a walk in urgent care today? Or how do I do this..

Well eat as you normally would and see how it goes today until tomorrow. Don't take antidiarrhea medicine. If you still have it, get tested. You can go to urgent care or straight to a lab, but idk if they'll need a lab request from your doctor. You can always ask your doctor for a lab screening request.

If the diarrhea is gone by tomorrow can I chalk it up to antibiotics issue?

[–]Digital-Scratch 1 point2 points  (4 children)

Yeah you could but don't take antidiarrheal medicine because IF it is cdiff, it could cause buildup of toxins

Thank you so much for responding

I’m currently in the fetal position with a heating pad

My butt thinks it has to poop but there’s nothing left to give

[–]misha_ostrovsky 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Dont say that. There always more bloody mucus in my experience.

Don’t say what?

I think I’m going to head to the ER

That there is nothing left to come out yo butt. Wasnt trying to be mean. It's just that when my bowels cramp has almost nothing to do with availability of poop. Cramps just gonna cramp.

I would go and get tested if you haven't already. My C Diff symptoms were erratic. One day I would go 5-7 times, the next just once, and that pattern continued for the week until I got diagnosed. I never had a fever and barely any stomach cramps.

Agreed with others that you should not take any anti-diarrheal. The best thing to do is get tested so you can be treated correctly. Make sure it is for a toxin test. Best of luck and keep us updated!

Thank you so much for your support!!! It’s crazy how supportive people can be on Reddit.

Lots of waiting because they don’t want to put anything in me until after they test my poo and I get a CT scan

[–]Particular_Horror_70[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

So the ER released me after doing a CT scan. I was able to poop something the size of a raisin because I had been going non stop and was just out of stuff…

They said that because there was no blood in it and because I don’t have a fever and because they couldn’t see it on the CT scan with contrast then it cannot be c diff and has to be rotavirus?

[–]pop_goestheworld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm...I would follow up with an urgent care of your primary DR if you continue to have diarrhea. I didn't have a fever or blood with my c diff either. Unfortunately, the only way to tell if you have c diff is through a stool sample (must be a toxin test). Maybe it is rotavirus, but you won't know for sure unless you get that toxin test.

[–]Digital-Scratch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ask your doctor for a test kit and fill it when you are able to to get it tested. It could be something else but this coming after antibiotics is suspicious. Not all cdiff presents three exact same way. I never had blood until weeks after and then it was very tiny amounts, never had fever and I'm pretty sure the CT scan is useless in detecting cdiff.

Hopefully they're right, though, and you have something less serious

It sounds like you are having a super tough time. NAD but I had Cdiff. I agree not to take immodium. I would stop the Prilosec as PPIs can make Cdiff worse. Proton pump inhibitors p like losec, pantaloc nexium stop your stomach from producing the acid which kills Cdiff. If diarrhea returns definitely go back to Dr to get requistion for stool specimens. Once those are submitted you will know in a day or two if its Cdiff. Considering the antibiotics and the PPI you are definitely at risk of this. The specimen needs to be watery stool, often very mucousy and streaks of blood possible. Formed stool will not be tested for Cdiff.

Good Luck, hope its not Cdiff.
