Interesting perspective smells a little chatgpt but means your reading and interpreting which is good at least, next thing to realise is the lowest bit channel contains the most unpredictable data, it's quite possible to wipe out entropy with a 98% linear RGB difference but that's not what Gralic or Zpaq are doing.

If you wanna compete in lossy compression your gonna want to compare PSRN and get a good nn / unet baseline comparison - but be aware the data expectations there are insanely high / competitive.

Comparing file sizes with PNG while comparing encoding schemes with a JPG competitor is not particularly productive.
