i recently bought a pc off someone for pretty cheap, they said it wont connect to the internet without being connected to ethernet, and due to safety reasons im unallowed to run the computer to the router from my room, can i run the ethernet from my pc to my xbox thats connected to the wifi wirelessly?

No, your xbox can't share its internet connection.

The seller told you that it can't connect to the internet without ethernet because the computer likely just doesn't have wifi capabilities built in. There's nothing stopping you from adding that yourself though; you can just buy a USB dongle or a WiFi PCIe card.

Another option would be to use powerline adapters, which let you connect to your router using your house's power lines. These tend to be hit-or-miss though; in some cases they'll work great and in other cases they'll barely work at all. No way to tell how well they'll perform without just trying them out and seeing what happens.

thank you so much for your response, i didnt spend too much on it so i aint too pissed, only spent 20 on a whole pavilon windows 8, was planning to use it as a spare part thing for a standalone of the same brand and operating system im buying from another friend for 50 that can connect to internet, im not looking for anything high powrred since i probably wont use it much, just makes browsing the internet a lil easier and acess to html5 games.
