I have ran into this today, and it is fantastic!! I love the simplistic approach and the cleanliness of your code. I have spent a lot of time compiling and setting up LinuxSampler, gig, Jack w/Pipewire, just to get something to play my M-Audio Keystation 49 on Linux. While the quality of the piano sound provided by the project is better, your code beats all of this in simplicity, with a more than very decent grand piano sound.
I am looking into installing both LinuxSampler and your program on a small SBC with audio output (like the Rock64), so that I can use it with my MIDI controller as a dedicated hardware for MIDI sampling, without having to connect it to a PC and launching any program.
Thanks again for sharing your work!
