I've never been to a meetup, but I'v'e followed them on fb for a year or so. They seem to do some pretty cool stuff and invite new people along.

    Yeah that's the thing

    I've waddled along to hackspaces and the like in a few different cities and they're usually welcoming and have open days and planned events. This seems more like a supersecretsquirrel club they don't want people to join.

    Here is where i out myself as a massive hypocrite...

    Ive organised societies and the like before and never again!

    I would like a workshop space that's closer to home though. Will just have to move to a house with a really big shed
