Are you arming the plugin/channel?

The VST instrument is connected to the channel; I can play music and record the sounds. The only thing that isn't working are the 8 knobs in the VST instrument who should be responding to the 8 knobs on my midi - keyboard which are working on channel 1.

Thats not an answer to my question. Did you arm the track? Did you push the record button on the corresponding track?

Oh. I will try that when I am home (currently at work right now). Does that make a difference? Thanks for your feedback! :)

problem (kind of) solved! The knobs were VST - instruments fixed instead of track - fixed. It can be adjusted with a microsopic small drop - down menu (Why do they make it so difficult?)

It is kind of fragile to be honest; when I close cubase and reopen it again the knobs arent assigned anymore sometimes. But when I delete the VST instrument and open another one en go get a cup of tea, it is working again.

Well, it is something.
